On Tuesday, November 10, 2015, Picador Guest Professor Linh Dinh gave a reading at the Galerie für Zeitgenössische Kunst (GfZK). About fifty people attended the event, which was moderated by BR radio host Diane Hielscher.

Former Picador Professor Alexander Chee Publishes Second Novel

This week, former Picador Professor Alexander Chee published his second novel, The Queen of the Night. During his stay as Picador Professor in Leipzig in the winter term of 2012/13, Chee worked extensively on this novel, from which he also presented excerpts at a public reading. Early reviews of his long-awaited novel have been very favorable.

Beyond the Beaches: A Survey of Contemporary and Classic Caribbean Literature (Seminar)

Mondays, 3-5 pm. GWZ 3 5.15. This class will start on April 13th.

In this class, we will read writing by anglophone Caribbean writers with the goal of learning the history, culture and contemporary issues facing this diverse and vital part of the world. We will read poetry, fiction, and non-fiction, and in some cases, we will have the opportunity to interview authors writing in and about the Caribbean. Readings for this course will include, among other texts:
