On Thursday, October 24, ASL instructor Eleonora Ravizza successfully defended her doctoral thesis in front of a dissertation committee and an audience of about 20 people. This process is part of receiving a doctorate degree at Leipzig University's Philological Faculty.
Due to the high number of participants, the seminar “Sources of Wealth and Roots of Power - United States Economic and Social History in an International Context” will now take place in room S302 in the seminar building (NSG) at the central campus (Universitätsstraße 5), starting this week.

Applications for the Transatlantic Leadership Program (TLP) 2020 are now open until 30 November 2019. The TLP gives young professionals of the European Union the opportunity to work on transatlantic relations first-hand by offering an internship of three months at the United States Congress. The working experience will be from September to December 2020.
For the past two years, researchers from around Germany have investigated and discussed 'narrative liminality' in a network funded by the German Research Foundation. As part of their collaboration, they have explored and theorized the boundaries and interrelations between the symbolic forms of narrative, play, data, ritual, spectacle, and others.
