The Muhlenberg Center for American Studies at the University of Halle cordially invites you to a guest lecture “Theorizing the Lyric” by Jonathan Culler on 4 May 2022. As a part of the Muhlenberg Lectures Series at Halle University, Jonathan Culler from Cornell University will be discussing the project of his 2015 book “Theory of the Lyric” and his views on theorizing the lyric in English and German.

Being back on campus, I hope you are all enjoying the summer term so far! Between assignments, group works, reading journals and mensa pauses, I also want you to think about the time after your studies at ASL and the opportunities internships can offer during your studies. I know that this can be quite overwhelming and frightening because the field of opportunities seems so wide. But this is also a chance! The internships I have for you today also reflect this broadness quite well and are just a suggestion what you can do with an BA or MA in American Studies.
