American Studies Leipzig cordially invites you to a guest lecture “Blackness and Time” by Prof. Michelle M. Wright of Emory University. The lecture will take place on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 from 3:15 – 4:45 pm in HS16 (Lecture Hall 16), Campus Augustusplatz, 04109 Leipzig.
On June 22, 2022, at 7.30 pm, American Studies Leipzig will celebrate the release of the fifteenth issue of aspeers: emerging voices in american studies, Europe’s first and currently only peer-reviewed graduate journal in American studies.

The research initiative “Invectivity,” in which several members of ASL are involved, is hosting a conference entitled “(Post)Colonial Shaming: Practices and Materiality of Degredation,” June 16-18, 2022. While the first two days of the conference take place in Dresden, the final day (June 18) will be in Leipzig.
