I’m currently on a one-person study tour through the US to research the ongoing presidential elections. I will post larger, in depth-pieces to American Studies Leipzig’s election blog and will use my personal blog below to report on the everyday encounters. More information on my journey is also available in this news item. Please enjoy reading, and please comment or ask questions.
aspeers, the first and currently only peer-reviewed print journal for MA-level scholars of American studies in Europe, has just published its latest issue. Now in its fifteenth year, aspeers is edited as part of ASL’s MA program and aims to showcase the excellent scholarship done in American studies already on the graduate level.
We cordially invite you to our next Picador reading with current Picador Professor Hilary Leichter, taking place on July 1 at 7pm at Galerie für Zeitgenössische Kunst. Hilary Leichter will read from her debut novel “Temporary” and talk with Svenja Gräfen about writing, books, Leipzig and the Picador Guest Professorship, work and much more. The event is in English and open to the public.

Hey everyone! I hope you are doing well and are getting along the with summer semester so far. When I opened my mailbox today, I found an internship offer I just had to share with you. Byron Bay International Film Festival is looking for Media and Marketing Interns! Even though this is an Australian film festival, I thought it might fit into the interests of ASL students.
