Call for Applications: Arnold Heidsieck Scholarships

The Arnold Heidsieck Scholarship Fund offers several scholarships for one or two semesters at a university in the U.S. The program invites applications from BA-students in the humanities who are currently enrolled at a German university and have a focus on German literature, language, history and culture.

The scholarships provide monthly grants of up to USD 550 and travel allowances of up to USD 1,100. Deadline for applications: 5 April 2018 for a stipend starting in August or September 2018.

American Studies Leipzig is proud to announce its new ERASMUS+ partnership with the University of Southern Denmarks (SDU) Center for American Studies, allowing ASL students of all degree levels to study for up to one year at one of Denmark's leading research institutions in the field. The Center for American Studies at SDU Odense complements ASL's existing partners

McCloy and ERP Scholarship Programs Calling for Applications

Dear students,

If you are thinking about studying in the US after finishing your BA, please have a look at the attached flyers of the McCloy and the ERP scholarship programs. McCloy specifically supports students at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, while ERP offers support for studies at other US universities. Both programs are open to excellent students with at least a BA degree from all academic disciplines. Application deadlines are October 15, 2013, for the ERP and November 1, 2013, for the McCloy program.

Study Abroad and Internship Roundtable Summer Term 2013

On June 19, 2013, the Study Abroad and Internship Roundtable informed ASL students about how to find and organize internships as well as how to spend some time abroad during your studies. ASL‘s Internationalization Coordinator Anja Eifert and Internship Coordinator Ewa Adamkiewicz had invited two guest speakers who shared their experiences: Jenny Lang spoke about her time at Mount Holyoke College; Erik Fraunholz spoke about his internship at the Public Relations department of the US Army Garrison in Gräfenwöar.

The Study Abroad & Internship Roundtable gives interested students the chance to learn more about study abroad and internships as part of their degree program at ASL. Students, who have either studied at a foreign university or did an internship, will talk about their experiences and answer questions. Afterwards we will have an informal get-together, where students can talk with ASL‘s Internationalization Coordinator Anja Eifert and Internship Coordinator Ewa Adamkiewicz and, of course, other students. There will also be snacks and soda.
