Guest Lecture NPR Journalist Jeff Rosenberg at Institute for Journalism

Radio Journalist Jeff Rosenberg will be holding a lecture on "The American Broadcast System: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow" at the University of Leipzig‘s Institute for Journalism as part of the seminar series “Grundlagen des Journalismus.” Rosenberg worked for the National Public Radio (NPR) for 20 years and was the head of the station’s international section.

"2501 Migrants:" Film Screening with Yolanda Cruz

Award-winning filmmaker Yolanda Cruz will present and discuss her documentary 2501 Migrants at the Hörsaalgebäude (HS 20). The movie follows the story of Alejandro Santiago, a Mexican artist who returns to his hometown after living in France, and finds it almost abandoned as many of the former inhabitants migrated to the United States.

Sons and Other Flammable Objects: Picador Reading with Porochista Khakpour

Picador reading with Porochista Khakpour at Skala/Schauspiel Leipzig, 8 pm.

Porochista Khakpour, award-winning author and current Picador guest professor at American Studies Leipzig, will read from her novel Sons and Other Flammable Objects as well as from her new unpublished work. The reading and the following talk will be presented by the TV-journalist Minou Amir-Seh.
