I’m currently on a one-person study tour through the US to research the ongoing presidential elections. Arqus Café (Sprachencafés) für Studierende

The Arqus Café is a virtual meeting place where students of the Arqus University Alliance can practice their foreign languages outside of language classes.

Here you can expand your language and cultural knowledge informally and with other language learners. You will have the support from language tutors who are not language teachers, but competent first or native language speakers.

New Issue of aspeers: "Narratives of American Colonization and Imperialism"

aspeers, the first and currently only peer-reviewed print journal for MA-level scholars of American studies in Europe, has just published its latest issue. Now in its fourteenth year, aspeers is edited as part of ASL’s MA program and aims to showcase the excellent scholarship done in American studies already on the graduate level.

LC-I Repeat Take-Home Essay

For participants of last winter’s Literature and Culture I module who have failed the overall module (i.e., your module grade is 5,0), you may redo those parts of the module exam that were graded 5,0. Save the Date: Picador Reading with Sheila Heti on May 19

Please join us for Picador Professor Sheila Heti’s reading, “Mermaids, Stories and Sex” on Wednesday, May 19, 7pm! Sheila Heti will read from her books, The Middle Stories and How Should A Person Be? The reading will be followed by a conversation with journalist Teresa Bücker about writing, her time as a Picador Guest Professor, online seminars, sex, and feminism.
