Radio Berlin-Brandenburg (RBB) Interviews ASL about Obama Visit

Radio Berlin-Brandenburg, the largest source for radio news in north-eastern Germany, interviewed American Studies Leipzig today about the visit of presidential candidate Barack Obama to Berlin.

Reporter Sabine Porn asked Crister Garrett about the genuine differences between candidates McCain and Obama in foreign policy, what such a trip means for presidential candidates, and what one can expect from Obama’s speech today in Berlin. Garrett noted that there are real differences between the candidates especially in terms of Europe, that such trips are traditionally important for presidential candidates (they show worldly flair and experience), and that Obama’s speech today will be important in that it can be seen as a type of informal agenda for his German and European policies should he win the election.
