MDR Radio Interviews ASL About Baker-Hamilton Report

American Studies, Leipzig. 7 December 2006.

MDR Radio interviewed American Studies Leipzig on 6 December at 17:15, fifteen minutes after the Baker-Hamilton Report had been released officially (The Washington Post had placed the executive summary of the Report on its web site one hour earlier). The Report represents the conclusions of the Iraq Study Group, a group of five prominent Republicans and five distinguished Democrats assembled to offer the Bush Administration recommendations on how to stabilize more effectively the Iraqi society and government. MDR Journalist Bernd Schekauski asked Crister Garrett how the President would accept the conclusions, what they meant for German-American Relations, and more generally, for the transatlantic alliance. The title of the final Report comes from the two co-chairman of the Study Group, Mr. James Baker (Republican) and Mr. Lee Hamilton (Democrat).
