ASL Joins Deutschlandfunk and Ostsee-Zeitung for Roundtable
American Studies, Leipzig. 16 October 2006.
On October 11th American Studies Leipzig joined Deutschlandfunk and the Ostsee Zeitung in Rostock to participate in a public dialog about relations between Germany, Russia, and the United States. Moderated by Deutschlandfunk, and hosted in the Ostsee Zeitung public forum hall (Großer Saal des Pressehauses), American Studies joined the leading Russian intellectual, Michail Ryklin (Russian Academy of Sciences), to discuss how Russia and the United States perceive contemporary political developments in Germany and what they mean in general for transatlantic relations. This event was another example of American Studies Leipzigs ongoing effort to encourage a robust transatlantic dialogue.
