The Civil Rights Movement and its Legacy

Join the American Space on Wednesday, January 18 for a public lecture with Dr. Rebecca Brückmann in remembrance of Martin Luther King Jr. and his influence on the Civil Rights Movement.

Dr. Brückmann received her PhD in 2014 from the Graduate School of North American Studies at John F. Kennedy Institute in Berlin. Her research focuses on the history of race relations, civil rights, and resistance movements. She has published articles on the role of women during the South‘s “Massive Resistance“ and the history of anti-abortion movements in the US. 

In her talk, Dr. Brückmann will discuss the history of the Civil Rights Movement and its significance for US society today.

The event is free and open to the public.
