American Studies Leipzig Announces the BA Research Track BART

Effective immediately, American Studies Leipzig will offer a new and experimental project-driven format of instruction specifically for BA students with a taste for research and a desire to sink their teeth into scholarship early on. The BA Research Track (BART) is a unique opportunity to participate in American Studies research during the BA education. It answers to a demand we diagnosed in our internal student survey in the summer of 2009.

HAUNTED MANSION Halloween Party on October 31st

The annual ASL Event Committee Halloween Party opens its doors for the third time to celebrate this spooky event with you. Starting at 9pm, the 4ROOMS (Täubchenweg 26) will officially be turned into a Haunted Mansion, which entices party people with a free VodShot, prizes for the scariest group and individual costume as well as an award for the person with the best knowledge about horror movies. New Picador Professor Olen Steinhauer

American Studies Leipzig looks forward to welcoming the Fall 2009/10 Picador Guest Professor for Literature Olen Steinhauer.

Steinhauer is the author of seven novels, among them the The Tourist (shortlisted for the Ian Fleming Steel Dagger Award and praised as one of the best spy novels by Stephen King) and The Bridge of Sighs (shortlisted, among others, for The Edgar Award and The Historical Dagger Award), as well as numerous short stories.
