The American Studies Leipzig based graduate journal aspeers has been selected for a special program that makes the first two issues available on amazon.com. The printing company's decision to offer the volumes over amazon underscores the growing recognition the project is receiving.


Summer 2009 Picador Courses

In the summer of 2009, Picador Professor Catherine Chung will offer two courses as part of Leipzig's American Studies programs, a literary studies course on "Minor Literature" and a Creative Non-Fiction Class.

PhD scholarships for projects in migration studies

The ZEIT-Stiftung Ebelin und Gerd Bucerius requests applications for 6-8 Ph.D. Scholarships in migration studies.

The Bucerius Ph.D. scholarship program in migration studies “Settling Into Motion” offers up to eight scholarships for Ph.D. theses addressing migration in changing societies. For 2009 proposals studying “Migration, Development and the Environment” are especially welcome. Qualified Ph.D. students of - in a broad sense - social sciences can apply until 25 February 2009.
