Daniel Peña, who was Picador Guest Professor for Literature in the winter term of 2017/18, was featured in an interview for Rice University's undergraduate literary magazine R2: The Rice Review. The interview was conducted by ASL student Mascha Lange, who spent a semester abroad in Houston.

On May 3, Rajesh Parameswaran, the current Picador Guest Professor for Literature, read from his work at the Galerie für Zeitgenössische Kunst. Parameswaran read excerpts from two short stories of his collection I Am an Executioner: Love Stories and discussed his work with American Studies Leipzig's Stefan Schubert.
