Former Picador Professor Daniel Peña Interviewed by ASL Student

Daniel Peña, who was Picador Guest Professor for Literature in the winter term of 2017/18, was featured in an interview for Rice University's undergraduate literary magazine R2: The Rice Review. The interview was conducted by ASL student Mascha Lange, who spent a semester abroad in Houston.

Among other topics, Peña talks about his teaching philosophy, his experience of having recently published his first novel, the city of Houston, and a number of surrounding subjects. He also discusses his time at ASL, saying: “Living and teaching in Leipzig was an incredible gift that came to me at a pivotal time in my writing career.”
