Course Catalog Winter Semester 2021/22

The course catalog for the Winter Semester 2021/22 is available now.

Please also see our news item on the upcoming in-person winter semester.

The course listings may be updated throughout the semester break. Especially once we know for certain whether classes will take place digitally or in-person, individual time slots might change again. We will indicate such changes in this news item.

Updates:

  • Aug 24: Unfortunately, the Institut für Anglistik cannot offer the BA module Language and Society – Applied Linguistics (04-001-1005) in the upcoming semester. 2nd-year BA students can still take the modules SHP-II and ED instead. If, however, you do want to take a linguistics module in the upcoming semester, you might also be able to choose a similar module for your Wahlbereich and have that count as LS-II. In that case, and generally if you have questions about this situation and about what American Studies modules to take in the course of your studies, please get in touch with your study advisers.
  • Sep 17: In the MA module Immigration, Ethnicity, and Citizenship, Prof. Pisarz-Ramirez’s seminar “Fictions of (Un)belonging: Citizenship in US Literature and Culture” has moved from Thursday 1-3pm to Thursday 3-5pm.
  • Sep 17: In the BA module Literature and Culture I, one of Heather Pruessing’s tutorials has moved from Tuesday 11am-1pm to Wednesday 1pm-3pm.
  • Sep 17: In the BA module iTASK, Heather Pruessing’s praxis seminar has moved from Wednesday 1-3pm to Tuesday 11am-1pm.
  • Sep 20: Please note that the seminars and tutorials in the BA module Literature and Culture I will start one week later.
  • Sep 20: The rooms and lecture halls for all classes have been added.
  • Oct 15: In the BA module Literature and Culture I, Dr. Schubert’s seminar (Thursday 11am-1pm) has moved from room NSG 115 to NSG 110.
