Picador Professor Daniel Pena Reads From His Work and Discusses Climate Change

On November 30, 2017, current Picador Professor at the Institute for American Studies at Leipzig University, Daniel Peña, read from his work and engaged in a discussion with Prof. Crister S. Garrett, and Dr. Jacob Schewe from the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research about the increasing impact and dangers of climate change.

The event, traditionally held at the Galerie für Zetgenössische Kunst in Leipzig, saw over 40 guests in attendance. Following a short reading of Mr. Peña's work, the discussion between Prof. Crister S. Garrett and Dr. Jacob Schewe turned to Hurricane Harvey, which significantly impacted the lives of millions in the Houston, Texas area. What followed was an interesting and lively discussion in which the audience also joined.

In case you missed the reading, please head over to the Institute for American Studies YouTube Channel where you will find the reading in whole on video, as well as videos from previous Picador Readings.

We'd like to express our gratitude to our guests, the Galerie für Zetgenössische Kunst, and last but not least to Daniel Peña, Prof. Crister S. Garrett and Dr. Jacob Schewe.
