PGF Regional Groups

Below, please find the clustering of the inaugural PGF Regional Groups!

The idea is that people from the same region of Germany form a group in which to meet and discuss their work. This will not only create more opportunities for academic networking and telling those new to the field about the DGfA and the PGF, but also provide ways of getting and giving feedback from and to other young Americanists in a way that will not be as demanding in terms of time, infrastructure, and money as the annual PGF.

The participants of the PGF workshop concerned with these groups imagined them to be problem-oriented, targeted at PhD students and post-docs, interdisciplinary and diverse in subject matter and perspective. While most of the organizational details will certainly be decided by the individual groups (such as who you might invite or call on for support outside of the PGF mailing list, etc.), we volunteered to get the ball rolling.

If you are interested in participating in one of these regional groups, it is not too late. Just let us know via e-mail, and we will put you in touch with the group in your region.
