Internship Roundtable with ASLAA on May 15 at 6.30 PM

On May 15, the American Studies Leipzig Alumni Association e.V. (ASLAA) will host an Internship Roundtable in cooperation with the Internship Coordinator Office.

Internships are an excellent way to acquire and develop skills during your time at university. While you are still enrolled in a BA or MA program, internships prove to be extremely helpful in finding out what you want to do after graduation. Additionally, skills you have learned during your internships will give you a boost on the job market.

If you are interested in pursuing an internship as part of your summer break or in the new semester, the internship roundtable will give you helpful information and insights to give you a head start!

The first part of the roundtable will contain of a short introduction on how to kick off the internship process, how to apply for a U.S. visa, and how to receive funding with the current ASL Internship Coordinator. The second part will feature former and current students of American Studies that have completed several internships (in Germany and the United States) in varying fields and companies: intercultural youth exchange and education, non-profit work, public relations, public diplomacy, publishing houses, as well as TV and movie production. During the roundtable discussion, they will share their internship experiences, talk about application processes, skills they acquired, and of course how their internships fit into the BA and MA programs of American Studies.

The roundtable will take place on May 15, from 6:30-8 pm in room 3.515 at the Geisteswissenschaftliches Zentrum (GWZ). We invite all students currently enrolled in the BA or MA program of American Studies Leipzig as well as students from other institutes.

The event is free and snacks and refreshments will be provided.
