Internship at Deutsch-Amerikanisches Zentrum Stuttgart Starting September 2019

The Deutsch-Amerikanisches Zentrum/ James-F.-Byrnes Institut e.V. is looking for American Studies students who would like to pursue an internship for at least 12 weeks (part time or full time) starting September 2019.


As a non-profit institution based in Stuttgart, the German-American Center informs about societal, cultural, political, and economic issues in both countries.


Interns should

  • Be interested in the U.S., cultural exchange, and political education

  • Have excellent English language skills

  • Have very good German communication skills (written and spoken)

  • Basic knowledge of MS Office and Adobe Photoshop

  • Be interested in Public Relations and Social Media

  • Have first experience in event management

  • Be able to work in teams


Interns will gain insight into

  • Programs of the institution (preparing exhibitions, presentations, readings, workshops, and roundtable discussions)

  • Organization of American Days (biggest German-American Cultural Festival in Germany)

  • Conceptual design and implementation of cultural and educational programs

  • Public Relations (drafting press releases, designing promotional materials, social media, drafting newsletters)
