Communications Internship, Welthungerhilfe, Monrovia, Liberia

Welthungerhilfe is one of the major and respected private organizations in development cooperation and humanitarian aid in Germany. It carries out projects in 39 countries and campaigns publically for fairer cooperation with developing countries. Currently, Welthungerhilfe is looking for a communications intern for their office in Monrovia, Liberia, which includes frequent travels to project sites in the country. The internship lasts for a maximum of six months. Welthungerhilfe will provide accommodation on sight and pay a monthly allowance of 200€.


  • Visit the project sites and write about the projects and beneficiaries
  • Conduct interviews with beneficiaries
  • Support the organization of PR and internal events such as conferences or visits from donors and journalists
  • Design and manage the Welthungerhilfe Liberia Country Office website and Facebook page
  • Develop visibility material, e.g. publicity brochures, promotional flyers


  • Currently enrolled or recently graduated from a university, preferably in the fields of communications, public relations or cultural studies
  • Already gained some practical experience in the field of communications and/or development cooperation
  • Enjoy working independently as well as in a team
  • Possess excellent communication skills
  • Possess a very good command of English and German, both spoken and written
