Jennine Capó Crucet's workshop on “Writing the Literary Short Story,” which will take place on Wedesndays from 11 am to 1pm and run until January 8th, still has a couple of open spots. If you are interested in taking the course, feel free to sign up.

Gideon Lewis-Kraus and his translator Thomas Pletzinger will read from his novel A Sense of Direction: Pilgrimage for the Restless and the Hopeful (published in German as Die irgendwie richtige Richtung by Suhrkamp in 2013) at 8 pm tonight at the Spinnerei (Volte Studio, Halle 14/C, free admission).

American Studies Leipzig is proud to announce the release of this year’s issue of aspeers, Europe’s first and currently only graduate-level print journal for American studies, which is edited and published as part of ASL’s MA program. The sixth issue of aspeers features a topical section on “American Memories,” containing both academic contributions and original artwork, as well as an open academic section and an interview with Professor Monica Michlin from Paris-Sorbonne University.
