My name is Susann Ehrhardt and I grew up in the lovely small town of Sonneberg, South Thuringia, Germany. After graduating from high school, I spent two years as an AuPair in Chicago, USA. Motivated by these two wonderful years of immersion in American culture, I decided to pursue my interest with an academic degree and ultimately a professional career that will deepen and utilize my cross-cultural knowledge. Thus I turned to American Studies Leipzig, which has proven to be the right choice for me time and time again. In my studies I focus on history, literature and cultural studies. In my leisure time, I facilitate and engage in intercultural exchange, since this was one aspect that I found incredibly enriching during my two years stay in the U.S. I believe that the more we are exposed to foreign cultures the more we broaden our horizons and increase our tolerance. Specifically, I facilitate international internship programs through my membership in AIESEC and help introduce American culture to the Leipzig community via the American Studies Event Committee. Apart from that, I love to cook (especially international dishes) and travel as often as possible. I further enjoy dancing and bike rides whenever weather conditions allow me to. I am greatly looking forward to a challenging and enriching time with the BA Plus Program at Ohio University.
