Lecture by Prof. Donald L. Fixico: "Indian Resilience and Rebuilding"

Please join us when Donald L. Fixico, one of the most prominent scholars in the field of Native American studies, will talk about his most recent work on "Indian Resilience and Rebuilding." Donald L. Fixico is Distinguished Foundation Professor of History at Arizona State University. His work focuses on American Indians, oral history, and the US West. Prof. Fixico has given lectures nationally and internationally and works with tribes and indigenous organizations. In 2000, President Clinton appointed him to the AdvisoryCouncil of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Guest Lecture with artist Elizabeth A. Gerdeman

Elizabeth A. Gerdeman is an American artist who lives and works in Leipzig. Her most recent solo exhibition at the Galerie Lifebomb was titled LAND/SCAPE: Viewfinder. Gerdeman received a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Ohio State University and worked as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Painting at Ohio University. Her research focuses on German and American landscape painting of the nineteenth century, and her artistic work, too, thematically engages landscape in various forms.
