Final Call: aspeers still accepts submissions for the 2 (2009) issue on migration and mobility

The Leipzig-based graduate journal aspeers still accepts submissions of student work (both academic and artistic) on the topic of "Migration and Mobility." The journal is a unique project launched as part of the MA program in 2007. It publishes outstanding work by MA/Magister students in American Studies programs across Europe.

Graduate Journal aspeers Calls for Submissions for its 2 (2009) Issue

The Leipzig-based graduate journal aspeers calls for submissions by graduate students (MA- or equivalent levels) of European American Studies and related fields by October 31 (November 14 for creative submissions).

The 2 (2009) issue of aspeers will be organized around concepts of migration and mobility.

The Deutschlandfunk, Germany's public radio service, had a report on the American Studies Leipzig project aspeers on the air today. ASL's aspeers is the first and currently only Graduate Journal for European American Studies. American Studies Leipzig launches aspeers

Today, American Studies Leipzig launched aspeers:emerging voices in american studies, the first—and currently only—graduate journal in American Studies. Opening the release ceremony, institute director Prof. Anne Koenen expressed her pride in the project and thanked the editing students for the outstanding job they did, as well as course instructor Sebastian Herrmann for the effort he put into the project.

Journal Release on April 24

On April 24, 3 pm, American Studies Leipzig will celebrate the first issue of aspeers, Europe's first and currently only graduate journal in American Studies. The journal has been created during the last semester as part of the American Studies Leipzig MA program. The release of the founding issue marks the end of the first editing cycle.

Call for Papers for New Graduate Journal as|peers

With a Call for Papers, American Studies Leipzig has announced a new journal for graduate students of American Studies in Europe. The new journal, aptly called as|peers, will offer emerging scholars a voice: A platform to showcase their work beyond the graduate classroom and a forum for discussion and exchange.
as|peers is currently the only peer-reviewed publication channel for graduate students in European American Studies programs.
