Being Programmatic

Dear all,

it is finally here. The official program for the PGF 2010 is attached to this post. The reader will follow later this week.

T minus 8 days!

Your PGF Organizers

PGF Reader

As last year's experience has shown, most people print out the conference reader (including the list of participants and the abstracts of all presentations) before coming to the PGF and read it in the days before the conference, on the train, etc. Thus, we will not provide you with any hard copies of the reader once you get here. We will of course provide you with copies of the program. If, for some reason, you do not plan to print out the reader ahead of time and you wish to receive a hardcopy from us, please let us know by October 22nd.

Sleeping Over

Dear PGF Enthusiasts,

for those of you who are, like us, rich primarily in ideas we have prepared a list of cost-efficient lodging possibilities in Leipzig. Attached to this post you can find the list as a pdf, and the map below shows you the locations of the hostels, hotels, etc. in relation to the main locations of our conference.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Yours in cheerful anticipation,

The Leipzig PGF Organizers

The Unbearable Likeness of Being

This just in: Your PGF 2010 organizers are now likeable! Likely, you know Facebook's "Like" button. Likewise, you have most likely seen its likeness all over the net. In all likelyhood, you have always thought "Gee, I'd like it if I could like that likeable pgf website!" Well, the unlikely has happened. We now have a like button. So go ahead, like us. Like, now.

BAAS Postgraduate Conference

In the spirit of transnational siblinghood we would like to direct your attention to our friends across the channel. The British Association for American Studies will hold its annual postgraduate conference on 13 November 2010 at the Rothermere American Institute, University of Oxford. This year's theme is "American Geographies," and you can find more information at the BAAS website.

External CfP: Approaching Literary and Cultural Theory

This year's graduate conference in Berlin might be of interest to some of you or to your students. The conference invites "students and graduate students, but also professionals in the fields" to apply. Find more information at www2.hu-berlin.de/amerika/asc/theory2010/index.html.
