MA Graduate Conference "American Pornographies"

The organizing committee of the Annual Graduate Conference 2011 cordially invites you to the second MA-conference at American Studies Leipzig on April 1-2, 2011. The conference will take place on Schillerstr. 6 in room S-202.

You are especially welcome to attend the opening ceremony at 10 am and the video conference with Guernica founder and editor Michael Archer and author/scholar John Patrick Leary from 6 pm to 7.30 pm, both on April 1. ASAA Professional Roundtable

With the Professional Roundtable the ASAA wants to offer current students at American Studies Leipzig an insights into the various careers possible after graduation. During the Roundtable you will have an opportunity to hear about the experience of two alumni as well as to ask them questions.

For the last Professional Roundtable (June 29, 6:30 pm) the ASAA is pleased to welcome Katja Wenk (Class of 2007), who works as Director Editorial at CAMAO AG in Darmstadt.  The roundtable will take place at GWZ Room 3 5.15.

Study Abroad & Internship Roundtable

The Study Abroad & Internship Roundtable gives interested students the chance to learn more about study abroad and internships as part of their degree program at ASL. Students, who have either studied at a foreign university or did an internship, will talk about their experiences and answer questions. Afterwards we will have an informal get-together, where students can talk with ASL‘s study abroad advisor Anja Eifert and internship coordinator Franziska Böhme and, of course, other students. There will also be snacks and soda.

ASL alumna Nicole Rahimi (Class of 2004), founder and director of NiRa Events Ltd and The Oxford Christmas Market, as well as Kirsten Hanson (Class of 2003), workin as an Event Manager for the Thomaner Chor and the Rosenthal Musikmanagement in Leipzig, will share their experiences after graduation.

Townhall Meeting for Students Interested in the MA Program

The Town Hall Meeting gives interested students a chance to learn about the MA American Studies offered at Leipzig, the application process, and the curriculum. It is also an opportunity to ask questions about the program, about applying, or any other related question.

The Townhall will take place in room GWZ 2 5.16.
