Picador Professor Michael Lowenthal Read from his Work

On Tuesday, November 04, 2014, more than fifty people attended a reading given by Picador Guest Professor Michael Lowenthal. The event, which took place at the Galerie für Zeitgenössische Kunst (GfZK), was moderated by MDR Figaro journalist and author Ellen Schweda.



Prize-winning Author Lev Raphael in Leipzig

On Wednesday, November 9, prize-winning author Lev Raphael paid a visit to Leipzig. At the Bibliotheca Albertina he talked about growing up as the son of Holocaust survivors and the burden of inherited history. Raphael’s family moved to the US in the 1950s and he grew up in New York City with a constantly present fear of evil, as he put it in his talk.


Reading by Stewart O'Nan

On Wednesday, 8pm, acclaimed US-american writer Stewart O'Nan will read from his novel Songs for the Missing. The reading takes place at the Haus des  Buches.


Picador Guest Professor Chuck Klosterman Reads on July 17

American Studies Leipzig cordially invites you to join Picador Guest Professor Chuck Klosterman's public reading on 17 July, 8pm, at Galerie Pierogi.

On July 17, 2008, 8pm, Chuck Klosterman will read from his novel "Killing Yourself to Live: 85% of a True Story" at the Galerie Pierogi, Spinnereistraße 7, Halle 10, 04179 Leipzig. Moderator will be Stefan Maelck (MDR). The reading will be accompanied by live DJ music (DJ Haircut, Ilses Erika).
