Student Council 

The Anglo-American Student Council (Fachschaftsrat or FSR) is the representative body of the students from the American Studies Institute and Anglistik. Members are elected annually by their co-students, whom they represent and lobby for in the various University committees. Besides being there for students’ questions and concerns during its office hours, the FSR also offers a mentoring program for new students (STAARS), and organizes parties.

University Student Council

The University's Student Council (StudentInnenRat – STURA) represents all of Leipzig Universities students. Its specialized departments (Referate) offer help and support for all areas of student life.
