Farewell

I'm currently on a one-person study tour through the US to research the ongoing presidential elections. I will post larger, in depth-pieces to American Studies Leipzig's election blog and will use my personal blog below to report on the everyday encounters. ASL Hosted Interdisciplinary Conference on Reality in Serial Formats

Two weeks ago, on Friday, May 24 and Saturday, May 25, ASL had the pleasure to host the most recent conference held by Weiter sehen, which was established in Dresden and now found its way to Leipzig through Prof. Katja Kanzler, who is one of the researchers in the network. The conference was titled "Weiter sehen: Realität in Serie."

ASL's Stefan Schubert Discussed Environmental Storytelling at LNC

On May 11, 2019, the HTWK Leipzig hosted the 13th "Lange Nacht der Computerspiele" (LNC), displaying a variety of video and computer games in numerous booth and rooms and inviting guests to interact with these games. As part of the LNC, a newly founded initiative called lalalab, which aims to celebrate the cultural potentials of video games, was also inaugurated with a festival within the festival, the SpielKulturLabor.

Internship at Deutsch-Amerikanisches Zentrum Stuttgart Starting September 2019

The Deutsch-Amerikanisches Zentrum/ James-F.-Byrnes Institut e.V. is looking for American Studies students who would like to pursue an internship for at least 12 weeks (part time or full time) starting September 2019.

 

As a non-profit institution based in Stuttgart, the German-American Center informs about societal, cultural, political, and economic issues in both countries.

Thank you for your Condolences


We would like to thank you all for your expressions of sympathy and condolences after the passing of Prof Crister S. Garrett. We want to show our gratitude for everyone who called or wrote us letters of condolence or left kind words in the book of condolences. We will always remember Crister as a warmhearted, cheerful and loyal colleague and friend. He touched the lives of so many people. We are proud to honor his legacy.

Internship Roundtable with ASLAA on May 15 at 6.30 PM

On May 15, the American Studies Leipzig Alumni Association e.V. (ASLAA) will host an Internship Roundtable in cooperation with the Internship Coordinator Office.
