American Studies Leipzig looks forward to welcoming the Summer 2008 Picador Guest Professor for Literature Chuck Klosterman.

Klosterman is the author of Fargo Rock City (2001), Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs (2004), Killing yourself to Live (2006) and Chuck Klosterman IV (2007). His work has received wide and enthusiastic praise, with Stephen King lauding Klosterman’s debut Fargo Rock City: “Writing about pop culture doesn't get any better than this, or any funnier.” Kosterman is also known for his 2004 ESPN blog and numerous articles on sports, music, and popular culture.

The author, journalist and cultural critic will stay in Leipzig from April to July 2008 to teach two courses at Leipzig’s American Studies Institute, to contribute to the city’s cultural life, and to work on his next projects.
