Join the American Space Leipzig for a public workshop with ASL Language and American Society Coordinator, Katie Protano.

From “hashtag“ to “unfriend,“ social media has clearly had an impact on our language. Facebook has most likely introduced most new meanings for common words such as “friend,“ “like,“ “status,“ or “wall.“ A troll is no longer just a mythical character but a provocative commenter on social media.

In this workshop, Katie Protano will look more closely at the influence social media has had on the English language and U.S. culture.

The event is free and open to the public.
