 Study Abroad 

The University of Leipzig currently has eight bilateral exchange agreements with universities in the United States for the exchange of faculty and students. Students who study abroad in the context of such exchange programs do not have to pay any tuition fees. For further information on these programs and application guidelines, please consult the University's International Center.

In addition, second-year BA students have the opportunity to apply for a BA Plus Scholarship for two additional semesters at Ohio University.

Programs

ERASMUS

The ERASMUS program is an institute to institute exchange agreement which gives students the opportunity to study at a European university for the duration of three to twelve months. As an ERASMUS student, you will receive a tuition waver at the host university as well as a monthly stipend (ca. 200 Euro).

ASL currently has ERASMUS agreements with the Institute of American Studies at Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland, and with the University of Southern Denmark in Odense. Additionally, you can apply for the ERASMUS program via other institutes at the University of Leipzig, for instance the Institute for British Studies (Anglistik). They offer a wide variety of partnership agreements with a number of European universities.

Bilateral University Agreements

The University of Leipzig currently has over 40 bilateral exchange agreements with universities worldwide for the exchange of faculty and students. Students who study abroad in the context of such exchange programs do not have to pay any tuition fees.

MAUI/AEN

The University of Leipzig is a member of the Utrecht network and thus also offers the opportunity for study abroad via MAUI (Mid American Universities International) and AEN (Australian European Network). While MAUI constitutes partnership agreements with 14 different universities across the United States, AEN incorporates seven universities in Australia. As with the bilateral university agreements, students will receive a tuition waver at the host university.
