ASAA Graduation Ceremony, July 31, 6 - 8 pm

The American Studies Alumni Association e.V. invites ASL graduates to the annual graduation ceremony. The event will take place on July 31, from 6 to 8 pm, in the Villa Tillmanns (Wächterstraße 30, 04107 Leipzig). Graduates can bring two people as guests for free.

Opportunities for International Management Program: Info Session, July 6th

On Monday, 6 July 2009, at 7 pm the American Studies Institute will host an information town hall meeting with the director of the University of Leipzig's SEPT International Management Program, Jun.-Prof. Dr. Utz Dornberger. He will present SEPT (small enterprise promotion + training). SEPT's Program for international management combines classroom learning and guaranteed paid internships.

Guest Lecture: Mars and the Evolution of Thought by Prof. Eric Rabkin

On June 29, Eric Rabkin, Professor of English at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor, will hold an ASL guest lecture about "Mars and the Evolution of Thought." The lecture will start at 7 pm and will take place at the New Seminar Building, Room S202.

ASL Cosponsors 600 Year Anniversary Library Lecture

Dr. Anja Becker, who earned her doctoral degree from ASL, will hold the lecture "Der Atlantik der Gelehrten: Die Universität Leipzig und Wissenschaft in und über Amerika" on May 28, 2009 at 6 pm in the lecture hall of the university library "Albertina." The lecture inaugurates the special exhibition "Kosmos des Wissens: Weltschrifterbe in Leipzig" of the university library Albertina.
