WDR5 Politikum Speaks with ASL about Barack Obama and the Power of the Presidency

Submitted by Carlo Becker on Wed, 01/13/2016 - 11:06

WDR5 Politikum is a compact radio show where ideas and arguments are exchanged. The show enjoys a large national audience. Reporter Stephan Karkowsky spoke with American Studies' Crister S. Garrett on the eve of President Obama's state-of-the-union address about the nature of presidential  power and specifically in the context of Barack Obama. Crister Garrett underscored that presidential power is a complicated theme, and generally speaking, presidential power can be impressive, but also fragile, as every president has experienced. Certainly this is the case with Barack Obama.
