American Studies Leipzig cordially invites English teachers from Saxony to our event "Obama 2.0: Real Change This Time?" taking place in Leipzig on December 2, 2013.

Our speakers, Prof. Paul S. Rundquist and Prof. Crister S. Garrett, are both experts in American politics and transatlantic relations. Their talks on Obama's foreign policy and his domestic policy will be followed by a discussion, giving you the opportunity for comments and questions. The second part of the event is a workshop in which we will introduce you to our online portal Teaching America – E-Teaching, E-Learning, Best Practice. This portal is a growing resource on free e-teaching and e-learning content for the classroom.

The event will take place in the American Studies Seminar Room at the Geisteswissenschaftliche Zentrum of the Leipzig University and the University Library E-Learning Center (both located on the Beethovenstraße) from 2 pm – 6 pm on December 2, 2013. If you would like to participate, please register until October 15, 2013 via email to: asl-laboruni@uni-leipzig.de.

For more information on the online portal Teaching America take a look at the portal itself (you find the link to the portal and information on registration on this page). If you have any questions concerning the event or the portal, please feel free to write us an email.

Before and after the event, you will also have the chance to attend a variety of lectures and guided tours offered on the occasion of the university's 604th anniversary and/or to visit the Christmas fair in Leipzig's city center. We will provide participants of our event with a detailed map and more information on the dies academicus's events.

We are very much looking forward to seeing you in Leipzig.
