American Studies Leipzig Director, Crister S. Garrett, was invited to phoenix Runde to discuss the implications of Donald Trump’s election as the next President of the United States.

ASL Director Crister Garrett, Interviewed by Several Radio Stations about Election Outcome

On October 9, American Studies director, Crister S. Garrett, was interviewed by several radio stations about the outcome of the presidential elections 2016. Professor Garrett talked about how Donald Trump meets the zeitgeist and mobilized more voters than Hillary Clinton. Just like Brexit, Trump’s winning shows the dissatisfaction many Americans feel. But foresighted, Donald Trump is not the only decision maker as the president but has to work together with Congress.

ASL Partner University Athens, Ohio in Die Zeit

In January 2017, ASL will again send four of its students to Ohio University in Athens, Ohio with the BA-Plus scholarship. Ohio University has been ASL's partner university for more then seven years.

On November 4, Die Zeit published a short portrait of Athens and its unique character as a "liberal island" in Ohio.

Office Hours for Professor Crister Garrett: 12 - 18 November, 2016

Due to an US-Election-Conference in Berlin on Tuesday, 8 November,
and an official visit to Ohio University during 14-16 November, Crister
Garrett will not be able to hold normal office hours on the 8th and the
15th of November. He will hold special office hours on Friday, 18 Nov.
from 1-3 PM. The following week office hours will take place during the
normally scheduled time.

New SQM Module "Sprachenlernen im Tandem"
