Official Opening: Photo Exhibition ASL Study Tour Houston 2013
On Monday, June 23, a number of students, faculty, supporter, and guests celebrated the official opening of the photo exhibition depicting the ASL study tour "Immigration, Religion, and Citizenship" to Houston. Among the guests were Consul Teta M. Moehs of the US Consulate General Leipzig, director of Leipzig University's International Centre Dr. Svend Pollock, and Dr. Gabriele Goldfuß, head of the division International Cooperation of the city Leipzig.
Photo Exhibition Opening: Study Tour Houston 2013
Please join us for the opening of the photo exhibition capturing the 2013 ASL study tour "Immigration, Religion, and Citizenship" to Houston.
The photo exhibition will be opened on June 23, 5 pm, Zentrales Hörsaalgebäude, 2nd Floor, Leipzig University, and will be on display until June 30, 2014.

Unique PR and Marketing Internship Opportunity
Former ASL Picador Professor and multiple award winning US author Shannon Cain is currently seeking a marketing and public relations intern for the book release of Roadside Curiosities: Stories about American Pop Culture. This anthology, which started as a project in a Picador class here at ASL, collects twenty short stories by celebrated US authors about US popular culture and modern life.
ASL Graduate Conference Welcomes Franz Erhard as Keynote Speaker
Due to a change in our program, we are happy to inform you that Franz Erhard, cultural studies PhD student at Leipzig University, will be the keynote speaker for this year's ASL MA-level Graduate Student Conference "Death and Dying in American Culture."
He will talk about "Pragmatism and New Securities - Sociological Remarks on Dealing with Death in a Secular World."
We are glad to welcome Franz Erhard to our conference and look forward to seeing you all on Friday.

The conference fee will be 3 Euros for the two days.
