 Communications Internship, Cefic, Brussels

As the voice of the European chemical industry, Cefic is a committed partner to EU policymakers, facilitating dialogue with industry and sharing their broad-based expertise. Cefic represents 29,000 large, medium and small chemical companies in Europe, which directly provide 1.2 million jobs and account for 17% of world chemical production. Based in Brussels, the council interacts every day on behalf of its members with international and EU institutions, non-governmental organizations, the international media, and other stakeholders.

The communications department needs interns with excellent spoken and written English to manage or help with various projects relating to sustainability, energy, health, safety and environment, in the areas of publishing, research and analysis, media relations, and events.


  • Editing texts produced by issue experts, so as to make them reader-friendly and impactful
  • Producing texts to be published on one of Cefic's websites
  • Researching a specific issue online and producing analyses and reports
  • Helping media relations manager organize and prepare for press briefings
  • Helping publishing manager with coordination of print or online publications
  • Developing visually attractive presentations
  • Etc.


  • Minor or experience in communications
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Ability to synthesize and translate complex issues into clear and concise messages
  • Highly computer literate; familiar with web content management systems and social media
  • Operational knowledge of web content management systems and related Internet tools, and/or elements of design and basic knowledge of publishing software are all assets
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strongly motivated, high amount of initiative, enjoys working in a team.
