The Fund for American Studies

Summary: This set of programs combines internships in government with academic coursework and special briefings, lectures, and other learning experiences, featuring government and business leaders.  Housing is often provided, and a fellowship helps to cover some of the substantial costs.  These programs are recommended for students interested in government, international business, or journalism.

Bundesagentur für Arbeit

Summary: The Bundesagentur für Arbeit offers links to a wide range of internship and short term job opportunities in countries around the world. The dates, requirements, accommodations, pay and other forms of compensation vary from offer to offer.

Goethe-Institut

Summary: “The Goethe-Institut is the Federal Republic of Germany’s cultural institution operational worldwide. We promote the study of German abroad and encourage international cultural exchange.

European Journalism Institute (EJI)

Summary: “Each summer for a full week in July, about four dozen practicing journalists, student journalists and those drawn toward critical examination of the intricacies of the free press gather in Prague for the European Journalism Institute, a seven-day intensive program of seminars, lectures and discussions about journalism and its role, its power, its responsibilities.”

Summary: “The International Institute for Political and Economic Studies (IIPES) is an academic program that explores major political, economic and cultural issues important to the Eastern Mediterranean region.

INTERPOL

Summary: Interpol is the world’s largest international police organization and has 187 member countries. Interpol’s main function is to facilitate coordination and information sharing between the police of its member countries. Internships take place in Lyon, France.

EUROPOL

Summary: “Europol offers interns the opportunity to gain some practical experience in the area of EU law enforcement cooperation and also to work for an international organization within a multicultural environment. European Economic and Social Committee

Summary: “The European Economic and Social Committee offers traineeships to university graduates who are nationals of the Member States of the European Union, as well as to a number of university graduates from non-EU countries.
These periods of in-service training offer an opportunity to acquire professional experience in one of the EESC's departments.

European Commission - Translation Traineeship

Summary: The European Commission offers university graduates the chance to conduct a translation traineeship with the Directorate General for Translation (DGT)
 

European Commission - Administrative Traineeship
